eBay Tries to Make Feedback Akin to Amazon Reviews

Everyone knows feedback is a joke. Only the insecure who need an ego pat read it. The rest of us don't care.

Ebay needs to learn feedback should be based on the service the seller provides with questions about product,  if shipped on time, returns etc. Not with how nice or not the product is, as that is a product review.

Why is eBay working on a redundant feature? No one can leave feedback on something they did not buy? Why not work on the ghost listings, a stable platform, simplified listing template, or any of the 15,000 reported bugs and glitches?

Most items are one off. Product reviews don’t have much purpose on ebay. If they want to add product reviews then add product reviews. Don’t turn feedback into product reviews. The two are not similar. Photos of the product in feedback is nuts to me since its never been a place for product reviews.
 They tell buyers in one place feedback is for product reviews by allowing photos and then in the policy say feedback isn’t for product reviews.
  The level of stupid is astounding.
Any hope of glitches being corrected is lost since they just laid off 1/3 of the coders. Hopefully it will at least limit the stupid, or slow it down.
  I haven’t looked at any feedback page since they dredged up years old negatives, put them at the top, and now they never go away.
 Feedback is dead to me.

You can stop there.  Why does eBay need to “Make Feedback” anything?  They need to take their ham handed thumbs off the scales.  Better yet, eliminate it.  It’s been corrupted beyond utility.

Making sales is how you "become like Amazon".

No one cares about "reviews". If you are looking for a Mego Batman - you know what you want, you know what condition YOU want it to be in and you know how much money you want to spend on it - what "review" is needed?

Same thing goes for a Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner bag - does ANYONE need a "review" on it?

If eBay wishes to engender trust between sellers and buyers - THIS wont do it.

I refer to the famous book and its dummy author "Selling on eBay for Dummies" ... that about says it all.

Ebay and their feedback policy are stuck in the 90's! Nobody cares about feedback anymore, nobody leaves and nobody looks at it. Its a good thing because not that ebay allows pics the vile pics that are showing up on good sellers feedback really makes the marketplace look even more trashy.

I have one ID that over approx 3 years has had 514 sales yet still only has FB of 81 or so.

For some reason, some IDs just don't get FB.

And there are buyers who leave dozens upon dozens of negatives.  All you can do is hope you catch them in time, and add them to your BBL.  

Speaking of, why doesn't eBay boot users who appear on a hundred different BBLs?  We have the technology..
