Bonanza Debuts New Logo and Works on Seller Tools

Bonanza introduced a new logo on Tuesday, and that’s not the only change it has planned after new owner Quincy Faison acquired the online marketplace in March and took the helm as CEO.

The logo still spells out the company name “Bonanza” but in a modern font that the company hopes conveys both timelessness and a fresh outlook.

“The new font strikes a perfect balance, lending a contemporary feel while honoring our rich heritage as a trusted marketplace,” according to Tuesday’s blog post announcing the change.

The most noticeable change in the logo is the alignment of the first letter, which the company explained as follows: “One of the highlights of our logo redesign is the slanted “b.” It represents the contagious excitement that comes with discovering unique and remarkable deals on Bonanza. Our marketplace is known for its one-of-a-kind items, and this slanted “b” captures the thrill of finding those exclusive treasures. It’s an embodiment of the passion and enthusiasm that our buyers experience every time they explore our platform.”

A seller who forwarded the email announcement Bonanza sent to users appeared underwhelmed and said they thought the slanted “b” looked tipsy. But the changes won’t stop there. Bonanza said it was committed to empowering sellers. “We recognize that their success is intertwined with the growth of Bonanza as a marketplace. Therefore, our team is diligently working on developing new tools to enhance their businesses.”

The new tools will enable sellers to efficiently manage their inventory, connect with customers, and optimize their presence on the Bonanza platform, the company stated. “We understand that the success of our sellers is pivotal to offering buyers an extensive and diverse selection of products.”

  1. We’ve been selling on Bonanza for many years with some success. The new ownership is making changes but these seem more along the lines of having sellers pay up for ads to improve their sales. On a platform that does not generate very much it’s a bit too much to be asking. Their fees are starting to move up to eBay levels. Another suggestion would be to stop writing these fluff blog posts, it does not serve anyone and their resources should be put to better use.

    1. I agree. Been on Bummerza for several years now with almost 800 unique vintage items in my store and I have more hairs on my left pinkie finger than I do sales. Tilting the “B”? YGFKM, Sebastian! And the fluff blog posts is right, talk about a “puff piece” it’s like the New York Times fawning all over a bad Democrat candidate….

  2. Bonanza marketing moguls, if there are any, have got to be kidding. Changing the font and tipping the B?? That’s what they call forward thinking?

    When I do a Google search to look for an item, I will see items being sold on eBay, Mercari and Poshmark. Never any mention of Bonanza sellers. It seems to me better exposure for sellers should be Bonanza’s first priority.

  3. Bonanza needs a lot more than a change to their logo. It needs traffic, it needs advertising. The site itself is fairly easy to run a shop, but if nobody knows the marketplace, it does not do any good.

  4. Putting lipstick on a pig, as far as I’m concerned. I have nearly eight HUNDRED individual, vintage items listed and I just made a sale yesterday, first in several months….

    Hey Sebastian, here is a novel idea: instead of fleecing us for more money (that we don’t have) how about using the money we ALREADY pay you for advancing our SEO with Google? And don’t give me that old line about: “we are a publicly held company and our first duty is to the shareholders”….If you increase the ability of us sellers to get our merchandise SEEN and PURCHASED then guess what? Your PROFITS go up and with it, STOCK VALUE.

    How is it that I don’t have an MBA and I know this simple truth??

  5. Had a store on there since it was Bonanzle, Have sold 5 things in all those years. It does not have the traffic

  6. Ha ha – full tilt on Bonanza’s new strategy. I’ve got listings on Bonanza. At prices lower than my Ebay listings. Have probably sold ten items in ten years. Unless the new management can figure out how listings can register in Google’s search algorithm, their aspirations for the big league are going to come to grief. Raising revenue from fees, ebay’s goto strategy to please Wall Street, won’t work for Bonanza if there are no buyers on the Bonanza platform. Then again, ebay will also learn that lesson eventually as the number of buyers on its platform continues to tank.

  7. Bonanza is a veritable cul de sac.
    Either spend a ton on TV advertizing, or leave the empty “real estate” for a real selling venue.

  8. Finding out that Bonanza also lacks in customer service to their sellers.
    Moving on.
