eBay will launch a new selling tool later this year, and the company is seeking sellers to join an “Advanced Listing Tool” pilot program to provide feedback about the new tool. eBay sent an email invitation to select sellers and explained some of the features.
We’re building a new advanced listing tool that allows you to:
- Enter all your information using a streamlined listing form;
- Add photos directly in the form as you edit your listing;
- List variations easily in one multi-quantity listing.
The eBay Selling Experience Product Team explained to invitees that sellers who indicate an interest in joining the pilot would be informed if selected to participate. “Starting in September (we’ll send you an email when its ready), use the new listing tool within Selling Manager (through most current listing entry points).” eBay would then expect participating sellers to provide feedback about the tool. “This pilot is all about getting feedback so that we can improve how you create listings. We want the feature to be great when more sellers start to use it later this year!”
eBay’s new management has told analysts since taking over that it’s planning a number of changes to help refocus on the core market, and sellers expect to hear more in September (see a preview of changes to come). One reader who was invited to participate told EcommerceBytes they were concerned about technical issues that might impact beta users. “eBay has a sense of humor after all! What seller in their right mind would use a beta when eBay’s “alphas” don’t work,” they said.
Those who receive an invitation to participate in the pilot program must have responded by August 28th in order to join the pilot.
