eBay is no longer requiring that sellers use its own shipping label program in order to opt in to the Guaranteed Delivery program, which helps buyers find items that ship quickly and is backed up by a guarantee, as the name of the program implies.
“Sellers can now use the labels platform of their choice when they offer eBay Guaranteed Delivery,” eBay announced on Thursday. “This waives the previous requirement that sellers must use eBay labels with the handling time option.”
eBay went on to explain, “While we’re lifting the requirement to use eBay labels, all performance standards still apply. For this reason, you may prefer the eBay labels platform because it automatically uploads tracking information. This can help you meet the minimum program requirements for 97% on-time handling and 95% on-time tracking.”
However, many third-party shipping solutions offer the ability to upload tracking information.
According to eBay’s FAQs, all buyers can use the “3 day guaranteed delivery” toggle at the top of the search results page – “This enables them to view only items that are guaranteed to arrive in 3 days or less, based on their geographical location.”
Buyers can also use filter search results; eBay states, “If buyers do not use the filter, search results will not change based on Guaranteed Delivery.”
