PayPal Works on Summer Delayed-Settlement Glitch

PayPal issued an informational report on Friday titled “Delayed settlement recovery” notifying customers that between June 11 and August 23, 2019, there had been a payment processing delay that affected certain transactions. Merchants who were impacted received payment, but the transaction wasn’t charged to the customer’s card until days or weeks after PayPal’s normal processing time frame, it explained.

Sellers and buyers who were impacted will receive additional information in the coming days.

Note – Impacted transactions include branded and unbranded payments, as well as a small population of refund transactions.

INITIAL NOTIFICATION: PayPal experienced a technical issue between June 11 and August 23 that delayed the processing of some card payments from merchants’ customers. Affected merchants received payment, but the transaction wasn’t charged to the customer’s card until days or weeks after our normal processing time frame.

We’re sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this delay may have caused. Teams are actively engaged to perform remediation, as soon as possible, for impacted merchants.

  1. Any idea why the link for information leads to a page with a “Topic not Found” error message. It’s the same in the email I received from PayPal on this. This is an ongoing issue so maybe that is why there is no historical data either of this incident?
