Alibaba’s 11 Main Boutique Marketplace Takes Apple Pay

Alibaba’s U.S. marketplace 11 Main unveiled new shopping apps for Apple and Android devices. The apps allow mobile shoppers to pay with Apple Pay. Apple’s new payment service is compatible with iPhone 6, iPhone 6+, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3.

11Main.com’s new apps features a mobile interface that displays visuals much like a catalog, offering shoppers an experience similar to browsing a digital magazine, according to the company.

Shoppers can view “shop windows” to discover and favorite interesting shops, which are organized in multiple categories, including Fashion & Style, Home & Outdoor, Jewelry & Watches, Baby & Kids, Collecting & Art, and Crafts, Hobbies & Toys.

Video tiles are also incorporated into the category landing pages, providing shoppers with additional insight into a shop’s individual story. The fully featured mobile shopping applications include a multi-item and multi-shop shopping cart and also provide seamless integration across all devices with a shopper’s online account.

The marketplace revealed it’s now offering over one million unique products for sale.

In June, 11 Main President Mike Effle told EcommerceBytes the site was inspired by the Main Street shopping experience. Of today’s announcement, Effle said, “We’re extremely excited to help shoppers discover and support the growing number of amazing shops and boutiques who are building their brands at 11 Main.”

11 Main is currently running a free-shipping promotion through Cyber Monday to help sellers attract holiday shoppers.

The new apps are available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices, An iPad version is coming later this year. More information is available on the 11Main.com website.
