eBay Offers Installment Plans to Canadian Shoppers

eBay now offers an alternative to PayPal Credit, welcoming PayBright to its Canadian marketplace on Wednesday. eBay Canada executive Rob Bigler said, “We are excited to offer PayBright’s installment payment solution to our Canadian customers, the first-ever service of its kind on eBay in Canada.”

In the US, eBay has offered shoppers PayPal Credit since 2008 so they can finance purchases.

When PayBright launched in 2017, it said it was the first Canadian company to launch instant consumer financing for ecommerce purchases, stating that until that point, “Canadian retailers and consumers have not had access to a payment method that is becoming common in the US, Europe, and other parts of the world.”

The new offering on eBay Canada will initially operate using PayBright’s virtual card solution. Canadian customers shopping eBay can receive an instant approval for a virtual prepaid VISA card to complete their purchase and repay PayBright in bi-weekly or monthly installments.

To kick off the partnership, PayBright is offering a 0% APR financing promotion to Canadian shoppers who make purchases on eBay, which runs from through tomorrow. It will run additional promotions “soon.”

  1. Like that’s going to do any good. I sell internationally, but I don’t get any international customers any more except for ones I’ve sold to before.

You’re going down down down eBay. Nothing is going to help.
