Mercari Announces Lower UPS SurePost Costs

Mercari is lowering rates for purchasing UPS SurePost labels for orders on its ecommerce platform. Mercari had added UPS SurePost in 2021 as an economy shipping option for items under 5 lbs shipping to and from the lower 48 states.

In this week’s announcement, Mercari told users they would get lower rates for prepaid labels for shipments between .25 lbs – 4 lbs. “You’ll save with Mercari’s competitive rate for 2lb and 3 lb shipments – just $7.99 with UPS® SurePost,” it wrote, with delivery in 2-8 days.

Lower rates for UPS SurePost® prepaid labels will be available for new listings on September 28, 2023. Starting the same day, existing listings with UPS SurePost® buyer-paid shipping will be automatically updated with the lower shipping rates. (Mercari said it might take up to 1 week for new rates to apply to existing listings after the 28th.)
