eBay Shares Survey Results on Advertising, Messaging and Stores

eBay

eBay logoeBay said 18% of all sellers surveyed said they owned or managed a physical storefront. The survey was conducted as part of a program called eBay Expressions that helps influence eBay design and functionality.

eBay also found over half (53%) of sellers had used eBay’s advertising or promotion tools (such as Promoted Listings or Promotions Manager), while 26% of sellers used a third-party tool or other medium. That survey (“Advertising Motivations”) was designed to help eBay understand which advertising tools sellers used among those offered by eBay or by third-party or other mediums like Google AdWords or Facebook ads. Unfortunately it didn’t share the complete results.

eBay also surveyed sellers about their use of member messaging that lets buyers and sellers communicate with each other through eBay’s own system. It conducted the survey to evaluate which feature additions to member-to-member communications would be most preferred by sellers.

It said the feature most rated as “Must Have This Feature” was “Add a photo to a message” (77%). “Username and feedback score of person” came next at 67%.

We have more details about the eBay messaging survey in the EcommerceBytes Blog, where you can also share your thoughts about eBay surveys.
