PostalVision 2020 Tackles Retail Returns

PostalVision

PostalVisionPostalVision 2020 and the Reverse Logistics Association (RLA) are holding an event to tackle the issue of product returns. “Return to the Future” is a one-day event taking place on September 20, 2018 and will focus on the growing opportunities and challenges being seen with product returns.

PostalVision 2020 describes the challenge for shippers and retailers: “Consumers are demanding fast, easy, and inexpensive product returns options. Shippers are scurrying to develop low-cost and customer-centric services for consumer returns. Retailers are exploring different returns models that keep customers happy but also keep their costs of returns under control, or even make returns a profit center for the business!”

And while the topic of ecommerce shipping usually focuses on outgoing product processing and delivery, PostalVision 2020 notes there is an entire supply chain for processing and transporting product returns that provides a different set of challenges.

Among the speakers are USPS Vice President of Product Innovation Gary Reblin and USPS Director of Product Management for Shipping, Jay Smith, who will share information on how the USPS is working to build and enhance its product returns solutions and support the returns/reverse logistics and retail ecosystems.

Academic speakers include Dr. Michael Galbreth, Head of the Dept. of Business Analytics and Statistics at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business, and the Hon. David Williams, distinguished professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.

And representatives of Accenture, the USPS Office of Inspector General, and Pitney Bowes’ Newgistics will also be speaking at the event.

  1. The USPS, that sinking shipwreck that fails so much they have to raise rates twice a year now? The USPS, that cuts deals with foreign countries and has US small and medium business subsidize not only cheap postage for those countries but for monopoly Amazon too? They are “developing” this? LOL.

Look for Accenture sniffing around for big contracts to screw up. They give incompetence a whole new meaning and literally shipwreck every account they get, but keep getting people like government top brass to let them fail but make Accenture lots and lots of money.

Pitney Bowes is gouging foreign buyers now on Ebay’s Global Shipping and has issues. They need to solve their own problems before they tell anyone else what to do.

This is all more corporate welfare.
