eBay Compiles Tips to Help UK Sellers Prep for Peak

eBay compiled tips to help sellers in the UK prepare for peak shopping season. For example, sellers should put the item’s brand name as the first word in the title and should focus on the first four keywords to get shoppers’ attention. Use all of the available 80 characters in the title, eBay advised, but avoid using emojis, exclamation marks, or special characters.

The list is a crash course including advice on optimizing images, item specifics, and “delivery experience.” It also advises sellers to run promotions and to advertise using eBay Promoted Listing ads.

In its Announcement Board post, eBay also included a video compilation of tips from eBay UK experts prepared earlier in the fall, featuring Hannah Hardiman, Director of Seller Community & Engagement; Sylvie Mullens, eBay’s Buyer Delivery Experience Manager; and Alan McColgan, Category Manager for P&A (Parts and Accessories).

Hardiman included this interesting statistic regarding the use of eBay promo tools: “Approximately 44% of all sales on eBay feature at least one of our promo tools.”
