When eBay sales stalled some years ago, it promised Wall Street it would find revenue growth through advertising and payments. By taking over payment-processing from PayPal, it has been able to grow that stream of revenue.

eBay encourages sellers to accept returns, and during a podcast today, employees revealed that eBay subsidizes the shipping return label in cases where it costs the buyer more to return the item than it cost the seller to mail it.
