eBay is making changes to its category structure which were announced last month as part of its Fall Seller Update. Originally eBay intended to roll out the changes by October 24, 2023, but eBay made the decision to move the category changes to early 2024 after being reminded by sellers this was their busy season.
eBay didn’t issue an announcement, but it updated the landing page where it had initially made the announcement, writing: “There’s nothing you need to do— just enjoy a successful holiday selling season. We’ll be in touch before the category changes take effect.”
eBay also updated the landing page outlining the category changes by adding the following announcement at the top of the page:
“Latest category changes moved to 2024: We wanted to let you know that we’ve decided to move these category changes, announced in our most recent Seller Update, to early 2024. There’s nothing you need to do—just enjoy a successful holiday selling season. We’ll be in touch before the category changes take effect.”
When the changes do roll out, they will impact the Auto Parts & Accessories category. eBay will also add a new “replacement shoe-box category” in fashion so sellers can list empty shoe boxes independently from sneakers.
It is also creating a separate category for Firearm Magazine Extenders, explaining it will help it comply with applicable laws and regulations for magazine capacity.
eBay announced its Fall Seller update on September 27.
8 days without sales now in auto parts. I think they bluff.
