Amazon brought some of the people handling sellers’ packages to Capitol Hill last week. Amazon Fulfillment Center associates met with over 20 members of Congress.
According to @AmazonNews, lawmakers “heard directly from Amazonians about their work experience and Amazon’s investment in safe and innovative workplaces.”
Amazon Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations Dave Clark and Amazon Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs Jay Carney were in attendance.
Amazon’s @davehclark tweeted, “Great event, thanks to the amazing Amazonians who attended and shared their stories and to the members of Congress who took time out to visit with us!”
Sellers who are interested can book a tour of an Amazon Fulfillment Center – you can find more information on this page of AboutAmazon.com.
Somewhere in DC: “And this is what a working person looks like!”
“Ooh” “Ah”
Overheard in the back, “Isn’t he supposed to be wearing a leash?”
“What’s it like to have to work for robots?”
“They cleaned him up nice before they brought him here.”
“Don’t let your boss see you, here’s the card for my union attorney.”
“Look at him eat that bagel. I bet they haven’t fed him for a week!”
That’s a little odd.
