Sellers won’t have Christmas Eve to deliver late holiday orders this year, generally speaking. That’s because the day before Christmas falls on a Sunday, when normal Postal closures apply. The last time that happened was in 2017. (Last year, Christmas fell on a Sunday.)
And of course there’s no mail service on December 25th – the USPS will close all branches on Christmas Day. The following week, the USPS will be closed for another 2 consecutive days: Sunday, December 31st, and Monday, January 1st, in observance of New Year’s Day.
Shippers using USPS will have the option of paying for Priority Mail Express – the Postal Service delivers PME 365 days a year (in select locations) for an additional fee.
The Postal Service said in its reminder notice on Wednesday that it had no plans for limiting hours on Saturday, December 23 or Saturday, December 30th.
There will be package delivery in most parts of the Country on Christmas eve.
