eBay Price Guide for Trading Cards Down for Service

Collectors are asking what happened to eBay’s price guide for trading cards, a feature it rolled out in beta in 2021. “I’m not able to access the price guide for trading cards online via Safari or on IOS APP at the top of the screen, an eBay user asked on Tuesday. “I called eBay and they seemed to not have any understanding of what I was asking and recommended waiting 1-3 days for this to be fixed.”

Another collector asked on Wednesday, “Price guide and ways to look up recent sales no longer showing up when I search for a trading card. Has eBay discontinued it?”

A help page offers some troubleshooting tips for those having difficulty, but an eBay moderator responded on Friday that the Product team had turned off the tool “due to issues that are currently being worked on.”

Trading Cards are part of eBay’s Focus Category strategy, and the company launched the Price Guide and Collection tools for trading cards in July of 2021, heralding the new features as providing a single destination for enthusiasts to view, manage, and track the value of their trading card portfolios.

The eBay Trading Hub includes FAQs that explain that price guidance on cards in a collection are updated once a day for every item, or any time the collector edits, adds, or removes an item from their collection.
