Etsy Plans to Facilitate More Discussions in Its Forums

Etsy

Etsy logoEtsy is looking to facilitate more Forums discussions and is surveying sellers on how it can improve the boards where users gather to ask and answer questions, learn about site changes, and chat. Etsy wanted to know if participants believed moderators (“Etsy Admin”) should participate more or less often in Forums discussions. Among the questions asked in the survey were, “What topics do you most often go to the Forums to discuss?” and “What value do you personally gain from participating in the Forums?”

Currently the Forums include the following sections: Bugs, Questions, Promos, Discussions, Announcements, and Chitchat. Etsy asked which of the following topics users would like Etsy to cover and included the following options:

Growing your business
Time management
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Stats/Google Analytics
Pricing
Going Wholesale
Seller tools
Social media
Techniques/Skills (Photography, tagging, etc.)
Shipping/International Shipping
Pattern
Accounting/Taxes
Customer service
Site changes
Marketing/Promoting
Other (specify) Please enter an ‘other’ value for this selection.
None of these

Etsy also asked sellers about the types of goods they sold and whether it was a hobby or their main occupation. The survey will be open through Friday, November 3 via SurveyGizmo.com.

    23 TOTAL possible forum categories…..
