Dear Ina,
I was doing a search on eBay and noticed there is a filter on the left that said “authorized seller”, this was the first time I have seen this.

Things that make you go hmmm,…

Dear Ina,
Not sure if this is something that you may already know but I found out that eBay’s Webinar confirmed that eBay will restrict visibility for the buyers to only those zip codes where eBay’s data shows the item would normally arrive in the 3 day period. It would also exclude any items that were listed as shipping via Media mail or any other slower service.

I had raised that concern on one of your posts and there had not been any comments confirming or denying it, so I thought I would let you know.
Take care,
D.

Dear Ina,

Dear Ina,
For a month or more, and maybe coincidentally in line with the recent Seller Updates, I have found I am no longer receiving transaction emails from eBay. On purchases, I do not get the Sold… you have purchased such n such… nor am I getting the Seller’s Invoice on purchased items, and nor am I able to request invoices for combined shipping. On the latter, I think they are SOMETIMES sent but it appears the seller’s are NOT getting them.

About 85% of my inventory acquisitions come from eBay so I am depending on the emails to keep my accounting happy and transaction records straight. I have telephoned eBay numerous times and the CSR’s are giving me all kinds of information – EXCEPT that which I need!!! My requests have been “doubly escalated” but nothing is changed. Period.

I still, however, get the usual promotion emails without fail.

On some occasions contacting a CSR, they identify me, but three times now, have erroneously presented incorrect account information… like I’ve been mixed up with someone else. Once they realize the error, they won’t divulge anything more “for security & privacy reason”, so I can’t figure out what’s actually going on. And it seems, neither can they.

Bottom line: I NEED THOSE TRANSACTION EMAILS!!!

Can you help, or shed some light on my situation? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks,
B.

Dear Ina,
What is the deal with what those absolutely brain dead (eBay executives) have done with the ‘seller hub’? I would say it sucks but it’s not even that good. It would have to be improved by about 780% in order for it to suck.

I am at a loss as to why they don’t just ask us to send them a list of the things we have for sale and they do the rest and, if they are in the mood, will send us a few sheckels now and again.

This has to be the most moronic thing they have done in a while and that, my friend, is saying something. This is the least helpful, least informative, least easy to use…………I can barely express myself without typing 300 or 400 curse words.

To paraphrase Richard Nixon when asked why he hated the press, he replied, “I don’t hate the press. You have to respect someone in order to hate them.” That’s how I feel about eBay. They are, without a doubt, the most dishonest, least transparent, most irresponsible company around. Gaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

Thanks for letting me vent. What is the general opinion of this cowpie of a change?
Ichabod
