Etsy is forcing sellers to use its payments service, which its rebranding from Direct Checkout to Etsy Payments. This week it extended the deadline to comply until May 31st, after which it will suspend selling privileges for those who do not set up the service. The updated announcement follows:
In April, Etsy introduced Etsy Payments, formerly known as Direct Checkout, and we are requiring that you set it up in your shop. We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re giving you two more weeks to set up Etsy Payments.
If you’re in an eligible country and don’t set up Etsy Payments by May 31, 2017, your selling privileges will be suspended and you’ll no longer be able to list new items and your listings will no longer be visible to buyers.
