“Blizzards, strong winds, and heavy snowfall” aren’t terms you associate with the UK, but Storm Emma hit the country 2 weeks ago. eBay issued an initial warning about possible delivery delays and updated the post on Tuesday to inform sellers it would protect them from any negative impact to their accounts caused by weather-related delays.
Announcement follows:
Severe weather conditions from Storm Emma affected many parts of the United Kingdom and caused delays to postage deliveries.
We’ve been in contact with delivery providers and they have informed us that their delivery services have now resumed as normal.
In order to prevent negative impact to seller accounts caused by the adverse weather, we’ll take the following measures for affected transactions from 27 February to 03 March by:
– Automatically removing Late Shipment Rate defects for a delivery delay of maximum 2 days
– Reviewing and removing Feedback and low Detailed Seller Ratings if sellers feel they’ve been unduly affected by the adverse weather and have supporting evidence.
– Monitoring Detailed Seller Ratings and taking corrective action in cases where there’s an abnormal increase in low Dispatch Time ratings across all impacted sellers.
