Ecommerce platform BigCommerce received certification for its information security practices, a move that comes on the heels of its migration to the Google Cloud platform.
A spokesperson told EcommerceBytes the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification demonstrates BigCommerce’s commitment to the highest standards of security for its partners and merchants.
BigCommerce powers ecommerce for more than 60,000 brands, 2,000+ mid-market businesses, 30 Fortune-1000 companies and industry-leading brands, including Assurant, Ben & Jerry’s, Paul Mitchell, Skullcandy, Sony and Toyota.

BigCommerce, the leading ecommerce SaaS platform for fast-growing and established brands, today announced that it has received the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, the international standard outlining best practices for information security management systems. With this certification, BigCommerce becomes one of only a small handful of SaaS ecommerce platforms to undergo this rigorous certification process.
BigCommerce’s certification, completed by cybersecurity advisory group Coalfire ISO and evaluated by an independent quality assurance organization, ensures that the company has established a formal set of policies, procedures, processes and systems that manage information risks for its digital and physical presence.

The ISO 27001 certification is the latest in a series of commitments BigCommerce is making to its information security, compliance and regulation practices. In January, BigCommerce announced its migration to Google Cloud Platform in order to offer merchants additional security measures, including best-in-class DDoS attack protection.
