Amazon will begin offering cars for sale on its marketplace in 2024 thanks to a new strategic partnership with Hyundai. Dealers will be able to sell vehicles in Amazon’s US store, and Hyundai will be the first brand available for customers to purchase.
Customers will be able to search on Amazon for available vehicles in their area based on a range of preferences – and they’ll be able to check out online with their chosen payment and financing options.
“This new digital shopping experience will make it easy for customers to purchase a new car online, and then pick it up or have it delivered by their local dealership at a time that works best for them,” Amazon explained in today’s announcement.
As part of the deal, starting in 2025, Hyundai will include a “hands-free Alexa experience” to its next-generation vehicles, letting drivers use the feature to play music, check calendars, and control their smart home from the road.
“Free returns if I’m not happy,” one Reddit user asked after reading the news. “I wonder if I’ll get 5% off with Prime,” another wondered.
In the near future more car companies are following Tesla’s lead and selling straight to customer. No middleman, dealership.
In 2025 you will also be able to sell your used underwear on Amazon.
