Overstock.com has added an integration with ShipWorks, a shipping and order fulfillment solution that helps online retailers and warehouses process and fulfill orders. While Overstock closed its third-party marketplace in 2011, it still allows large third parties to sell through its Partner program.
Press release follows:
ShipWorks, the leading enterprise shipping software program for serious and successful e-commerce merchants and warehouses, has integrated with Overstock.com, the billion-dollar online home goods and furniture retailer that sells a broad range of products at low prices.
With the integration, Overstock.com orders can be downloaded into ShipWorks manually or on an automated schedule. When the simple download is complete, users can manage their Overstock.com shipments with the ShipWorks Rules feature, which helps automate a wide range of shipping conditions.
Once enabled, the ShipWorks ShipSense tool can further automate repeat shipping tasks by learning key characteristics of orders and automatically enter shipment information such as carton dimensions, weight, or product value. When orders are processed, ShipWorks then updates the Overstock store with shipment details including order status, carrier used, and tracking information.
ShipWorks customers will find the Overstock.com integration extremely beneficial, particularly the versatile automation that will save them significant time. Users can specify that any Overstock order weighing more than 15-pounds, for example, be sent via a specific carrier, or activate parcel insurance on specific products or based on order values.
In addition, ShipWorks Rate Shopping allows users to compare shipping rates across multiple carriers to get the best rates on every order.
