eBay Publishes Tax Information Center for Sellers

eBay published a “Tax Information Center for eBay Sellers” last year in conjunction with TaxAct, and on Friday, it announced it would publish the information center again this year. It also promoted the TaxAct service to sellers in the announcement:

“As a special offer, eBay sellers can save 25% on TaxAct’s services when filing federal taxes with TaxAct*. TaxAct’s easy-to-use software takes the stress out of filing. Plus, they guarantee you’ll get your maximum tax refund using calculations that are 100% correct, backed up to $100,000.”

It appears eBay is an affiliate of TaxAct – sellers must use eBay’s link to qualify for the discount – though eBay did not disclose if it gets compensated for any sign-ups.

Clicking on the link from eBay to the portal on TaxAct brings up a page that offers TaxAct’s services followed by articles such as, “Demystifying the New IRS Reporting Regulations for eBay Sellers,” last updated in November.

The January 12th announcement is found on the eBay Announcement Board.
