Amazon Is Updating Its FBA Removals Policy

Amazon is making a change to its FBA Removals Policy. For sellers who set their preferred removal option for unfillable inventory to “Dispose,” Amazon will schedule the removal order at its discretion based on capacity, starting November 1, 20203.

Sellers who haven’t selected a removal option before November 1, 2023, will have their selection default to Immediate Disposal.

“To maintain a weekly or biweekly removal schedule, you must go to Automated unfulfillable settings, select the return option, and input a valid return address. You’ll then have the ability to place manual removal orders on your inventory any time prior to your selected automated removal schedule,” Amazon stated in Friday’s announcement.

Sellers who use Amazon’s FBA fulfillment service can learn more about the upcoming policy change by going to “Remove inventory automatically” on Seller Central.
