PayPal Does Deal with eBay Rival Yahoo

PayPal has partnered with eBay rival Yahoo Small Business, the ecommerce and local-marketing arm of search giant Yahoo. The two are collaborating to help small retailers sell and process payments online.

The head of PayPal North American Distribution Stephen Fusco said in a blog post, “Now, small business owners who lack the resources to build an ecommerce function or design a website are able to launch an online storefront and start selling within minutes – a process that could traditionally take up to several days.”

Fusco said PayPal also teamed up with email hosting firm Constant Contact. “Together with these partners, we are improving customer experiences and streamlining the payment process to add PayPal Express Checkout and the ability to accept credit cards on-site,” he said.

Thousands of Yahoo Small Business customers choose PayPal as their preferred payment option, he said. “Yahoo Small Business ecommerce customers will also benefit from responsive design and built-in mobile optimized sites- one of the fastest growing ways for people to make purchases.”

Fusco provided a phone number on the PayPal blog post for small businesses who are interested in learning more (888-421-3167). Yahoo also created a special landing page promoting the partnership that says, “Trust Yahoo and PayPal to power your ecommerce success. PayPal is integrated with Yahoo Stores, making payment setup simple.”
