UPS Launches Saturday Residential Delivery in Canada

UPS will offer Saturday residential delivery for UPS Standard Service in major Canadian cities, it announced on Tuesday. The new service is currently available in the Greater Toronto Area and will be available by March in Montreal, Laval, Calgary, and Greater Vancouver.

The service comes at no extra cost to recipients and provides businesses of all sizes a reliable way to get purchases to their customers on the weekend, according to the announcement.

“UPS is the first global small package carrier in Canada to provide committed Saturday ground residential delivery of shipments from the US and within Canada at no additional cost,” it said.

It cited research that showed half of Candians expect online purchases to be delivered within 1 to 2 days, even over the weekend. “Saturday residential delivery is an important growth differentiator for UPS customers, attracting consumers who want their deliveries sooner,” it said.

Information is available on the UPS website.
