Walmart Offers Incentives to Attract New Sellers

Walmart is launching a program to attract sellers to its platform. New sellers will receive up to 50% off referral fees for the first 90 days as part of the New-Seller Savings program announced on Monday. It’s also offering new sellers discounts on its fulfillment service and ad network.

Last year, Walmart similarly ran an incentive program to attract new sellers.

A spokesperson told EcommerceBytes Walmart doubled the number of items on its marketplace over the past year. As part of the current promotion, new sellers will receive the following savings for a limited time, totaling up to 50% off referral fees for the first 90 days:

  • 10% off Sign up and go live
  • 15% off Ship with Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS): End-to-end fulfillment services for Walmart Marketplace sellers of all sizes.
  • 15% off Advertise with Walmart Connect, Walmart’s retail media network that accelerates business growth by turning browsers into shoppers through Sponsored Search advertising strategies.
  • 10% off Automate with Repricer, an automated pricing tool that helps sellers stay ahead of the competition.

Sellers can also save up to 50% on Walmart Fulfillment Services for 90 days including +50% off prep services, +50% off storage fees and +25% off fulfillment if their first shipment is received by July 31.

Sellers can find details on the Walmart website.

  1. They need to keep attracting new sellers since so many sellers have been leaving … actually running away from them. They offer sellers zero protection. Buyer fraud is rampant and buyer return rates are sky high.

  2. You couldn’t pay me to return to their site… the last straw was stores sending me back returns (we were not part of that program) that were not even our product.

  3. We stopped selling on Walmart because of too many scams and return frauds. All at the cost of small businesses.
