Walmart Fulfillment Doubles Unit Growth on Black Friday

Walmart fulfilled double the number of units for sellers on Black Friday than last year as Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) gains traction. During its Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals events (Nov. 8-14 and Nov. 22-27), WFS saw its four highest-volume sales days.

Walmart Marketplace also experienced its two biggest sales days ever as millions of customers shopped Walmart.com for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Marketplace peak orders per minute jumped four times its previous high on Black Friday.

Walmart reported that thousands of sellers celebrated their highest sales days ever on Walmart.com and thousands of new sellers marked their first sale on the platform during the holiday sales, and said 40% of Walmart Marketplace orders included an item sold by small and medium-sized businesses during the sales events.

Manish Joneja, Senior Vice President of Walmart Marketplace and Walmart Fulfillment Services, said it was inspiring to see so many sellers achieve milestones and grow their businesses with Walmart.

Sellers are increasing their adoption of solutions and services provided by Walmart to help increase their sales, the retailer said, and said deals on Walmart.com would continue all season.

  1. In reality, WFS sellers are constantly posting issues on social media about lost merchandise and dealing with incompetent support trying to get reimbursed. The WFS horror stories are plentiful.
