Walmart is inviting sellers to register for its free, in-person Let’s Grow seller summit to be held in San Francisco this summer. The event is focused on celebrating sellers and helping them grow by learning specific ways to reach millions of customers globally through Walmart Marketplace.
Over 1,500 sellers attended the retailer’s first seller summit last year in Las Vegas, and spokesperson John Forrest Ales told EcommerceBytes that Walmart anticipates the number of attendees to grow significantly this year. “We are already seeing very strong interest since opening registration” on Wednesday, he said.
In addition to general and focused sessions, an expo hall will let sellers talk one-on-one with representatives from third-party solution providers as well as with Walmart teams, including Walmart Connect, Walmart International, Walmart Fulfillment Services, and Walmart Business. The expo will also feature a seller support bar featuring scheduled and walk-up appointments with Seller Support associates, and space to meet with Walmart merchants (its term for merchandisers) to discuss opportunities in its 1P assortment.
The summit takes place August 26 – 28, 2024, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Walmart will also offer a virtual option for sellers interested in learning more about selling on Walmart Marketplace.
Walmart Marketplace posted the following video recapping last year’s event to YouTube:
Walmart needs to keep sucking in new sellers since they keep retain the old ones who leave in droves once they realize Walmart marketplace offers no seller protections and has rampant buyer fraud.
