Etsy Seller Ads May Appear in Google Small-Biz Search Results

Etsy told sellers their ads may appear in Google Shopping search results when shoppers use Google’s new Small Business filter, referring sellers to Google’s November 1st blog post announcing the feature.

Etsy is currently testing the Google filter with a small group of sellers – if you’re part of Offsite Ads and you ship to the United States, Etsy said, then your listings may be eligible to appear in searches using the filter during the testing.

As it explains on the Etsy Offsite Ads help page, it automatically advertises sellers’ listings off of the Etsy marketplace at its discretion; once a seller has reached $10,000 in sales, they are required to participate in Etsy Offsite Ads.

While Etsy tests Google Shopping’s small-business filter, sellers won’t pay Offsite Ads fees on sales generated through the testing. (Offsite Ads fees still apply if sellers make a sale from paid placements on Google.)

Etsy announced the test in a November 14th post on the Seller Announcement Board.
